Your details, plainly.

What we keep when you contact SOA Media, why we keep it, and how to have it changed or removed. No small print.

01Who we are

SOA Media is a film and photography studio in Cape Town, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the details you send us through this site.

02What we collect

Only what you type to us:

Nothing else. We don't run analytics, ad trackers or tracking cookies, and we don't buy or receive lists about you.

03Where it lives

Your enquiry or brief is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, through Firebase, in a project managed by SOA Media. Only the SOA team can sign in and read it. Visitors to the site can't read anyone's details — not even their own after sending.

04Why we use it

To reply to you and, if we work together, to plan and deliver the shoot. We don't send newsletters, we don't sell or share your details, and we don't use them for anything you didn't come to us for.

05How long we keep it

Until the project is done, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. Enquiries that don't become projects are cleared out when they're no longer needed to reply to you.

06Your rights (POPIA)

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act you can ask us to:

Email the studio inbox at our Instagram, @s.o.a_media and we'll sort it out. If you're unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).

07Cookies and local storage

This site sets no tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage — a small store on your own device — for three things:

To clear it, use your browser's "clear site data" (or "clear history and website data") for this site. On a shared device, we drop your details from local storage as soon as our server confirms it has them.
